Who We Are
Studies about the importance of team sports have shown that sports benefit physical and psychological well-being. For this reason, ARK International and X-treme Rugby Wear partnered together in 2009 to create The Nak Suu Rugby Academy.
Our ultimate goal is to have a lasting impact in the lives of young people through rugby training and life skill development—building trust, hope, self-esteem, and courage. It is our hope to provide these children with the opportunity to develop training, skills, and character needed to successfully live a life that will contribute to society.
Straight out of some of the most difficult neighborhoods in Bangkok, our kids have learned that rugby is more than just a game. It is a place to learn about teamwork, a place to make friends, a place to be believed in and a place to dream. For some this program has become a place of refuge, but most of all it's a place where they can live, learn and grow together. Nak Suu is an initiative to "Change Lives Forever"
Our Inspiration
Children are at the highest risk of being subjected to prostitution, drug and substance abuse, teenage pregnancy and child labor when families are wrought with poverty. Without direct intervention in their lives, an entire generation of disadvantaged youth will not have the training, skills and character needed to successfully live a healthy life and thus, will slip between the cracks of society.
We believe each child has a unique contribution to this world, and we aim to see these God given gifts developed in each child's life
How We Help
The Nak Suu Rugby Academy works directly with children and youth at risk. The number of disaffected Thai Youth grows, and Nak Suu is Dedicated to seeking out these valuable souls and providing them with unique opportunity to grow to their full potential.
Each week, our coaches and volunteers provide rugby training, life skills, and mentorship to empower and encourage our kids. Some of these youth have already developed into promising young leaders, and the number of positively affected youth continues to rise. We continue to look for different opportunities to provide a viable and promising future of success for these kids lives.
